Irish Affair, the brand new musical by west end composer Stuart Brayson (From Here To Eternity) is set to return this summer. This incredibly moving and melodic true Irish story set in 1957 will take place on the main stage at the National Opera House in Wexford on June 27. 2025. Last year in 2024 Irish Affair received its workshop premiere at the National Opera House to incredible audience response with the new score and talented young Irish company receiving many standing ovations and the stand alone new song ‘She Is My Everything’ from the score of Irish Affair can now be heard on Matinee Radio.
Based on the true story of Sean Cloney and Sheila Kelly, set in Fethard- on- Sea back in the 1950’s; Irish Affair takes us on an inspirational journey showing how a catholic man and protestant woman overcame the religious and political obstacles which divided a nation and became an international concern.
Irish Affair is a mesmerising piece of drama, based on true events, with credible and relatable characters. The narration is further enhanced with a luscious score, infectious toe -tapping melodies and unforgettable hauntingly beautiful airs, with a sprinkle of traditional Irish influences-evoking both tears of sorrow and laughter throughout.
This semi staged concert will be presented in the main auditorium of the National Opera House introduced by the legendary lyricist Sir Tim Rice on the evening of Friday, June 27. 2025. It promises to be an inspiring, uplifting musical suitable for all the family. The new cast will be announced soon.
